How to enable auto updates for Silverlight?

I run windows vista and i wanted to update silverlight and went into the settings and was not able to set any of the update settings because all were grayed out. i right clicked and chose run as administrator but it would still not allow me to choose any options. i just want to know how to enable the auto update function. Some PC configurations cannot use Auto update. Read here. www.microsoft.com
